Why can't I see my course?
Your course may not be visible for a few reasons. If you register for a course in NEIUport before 2:30 p.m., you will have access within 4 hours. Students who register after 2:30 p.m. will have access early the next morning.
If you still cannot see your course, get in touch with your professor to make sure that the course is active. Students can only see courses that have been activated by their professor.
How do I find my courses and customize my D2L homepage?
You can sort your courses by semester in the My Courses Widget. This guide walks you through the steps. You can also "pin" your courses to your homepage by clicking the thumbtack icon in the upper corner of the course icon.

Can I use D2L from my phone or tablet?
Of course! D2L adapts to whatever device you use, whether that's a desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. Just visit neiu.desire2learn.com and log in with your netID and password.

How do I get back to my homepage from within a course?
Click on the NEIU logo in the upper-left-hand corner of the page.
Why won't my assignment upload to the assignment folder?
A few things can prevent a file from uploading properly. Make sure that the file name only contains letters and numbers and is under 1 GB in size. Also, don't use an incognito window when working in D2L.
What kind of files can I submit to assignment folders?
Ask your professors what file formats they prefer. The safest options are those accessible by Microsoft Office Suite: .docx, .xlsx, .ppx, and .pdf.
I can't find Dropboxes in D2L. Where did they go?
Dropboxes are now called Assignments, which you can access in the top navigation bar.
Why do I have to scroll so far to find my courses?
You may have too many old announcements. You can dismiss an announcement from the D2L homepage by clicking the X in the corner of the announcement. To view dismissed announcements, click on NEIU Announcements.
A quiz/assignment/reading is missing from my course. How do I access it?
Contact your professor if you are having trouble finding material in your course.
What should I do if I miss an assignment deadline?
Get in touch with your professor as soon as you think you might miss a deadline. The Help Desk cannot change due dates or make submissions on your behalf.
I can't post in a discussion topic. What should I do?
Make sure that the discussion topic isn't locked and the due date hasn't passed. Your professor may also have enabled a setting so that you must post before you see your classmates' responses. Look under the title of the post to see if this is the case.
